Jason Hope is an entrepreneur, philanthropist, and futurist who is sure that the Internet of Things (IoT) is going to be a large part of the future. While innovations from the world of the IoT used to sound like the works of a science fiction writer, we are beginning to see them in our daily lives more than ever. The IoT is the connecting of everyday objects to the internet, and it is revolutionizing the way that many different household items, houses, cars, medical equipment, and other consumer goods operate.
Jason Hope has recently been educating the public about the fact that the airline industry is going to using the IoT to offer its customers better service soon. More than a third of airlines direct parts of their budget towards innovations related to the world of the IoT. He is sure that airport customer service will improve due to the IoT and has talked about the fact that most airplanes are already connected to a wireless network. This allows airlines to look at data in real-time and perform maintenance when or before it is needed directly as a problem is discovered. Bluetooth beacons can also ensure that life jackets and other safety items are working by monitoring them in real-time.
Jason Hope wants people to understand that customer service will improve and check-ins will become much easier at airlines. He is also looking forward to a more personalized experience that can literally guide people to where they need to go in an airport. Another example he has used is that a person who needs a wheelchair will be able to find one immediately instead of having to look around and ask a spread of different people. Along with these changes, Jason Hope has revealed that airlines will be creating sensors that will be able to pick up on whether passengers are uncomfortable with the temperature settings, if they are under-hydrated, or if they are uncomfortable for other reasons.
Jason Hope is positive about this future but has warned that there will be some work to do before airlines are ready to roll everything that is in the works out. Security will also have to be improved in many different ways and other hurdles will have to be overcome. While this is true, the IoT is already beginning to make way into airlines right now, and it is making the experience of traveling through the air a much better one than it ever has been in the past.
